Iman Mersal is one of the leading figures of contemporary Egyptian poetry. She is the author of an intimate and feminist work that deals with love, friendship and mourning. Internationally acclaimed, her texts have been translated into over a dozen languages. On the occasion of the Nuit des Idées 2021, she spoke with journalist Lina Attalah about her definition of the tenuous links between distance and proximity.
