Towards a globalization of proximity

As part of the first edition of the Night of Ideas in China, the Consulate General of France in Chengdu is organizing two meetings for the general public, around French and Chinese experts who think about the contemporary world.
The first meeting will focus on philosophy and its reception by young people: "Philo Ado", around the publication in China of the 10 titles of the philosophy collection dedicated to 14-19 year olds, published in France by Rue de l'échiquier and in translation in China by the Chinese publisher Duku.
The second meeting, "Towards a globalization of proximity? "will raise the question of the major trends and adaptations at work in the wake of a global crisis.
The meetings will take place in a hybrid format, with French or Chinese speakers physically present and remote speakers.
In Chengdu, the Night of Ideas will be held at the Hotel W, partner of the event. In Kunming, the Night of Ideas is organized in collaboration with the Elephament bookstore.
17h15 -18h30 Teenage philosophers 和青少年聊哲学
Philosophy can respond to a need of adolescents who are building themselves today in a society in crisis, and therefore in need of guidance, by helping them to overcome their fears, to live better and to give meaning to their lives. Giving teenagers a taste for reflection means helping them discover the pleasure of thinking for themselves, encouraging them to take an interest in the world around them, sharpening their critical thinking skills and understanding the issues at stake today.
如今的青少年们在一个不断遭遇危机的社会中成长,因此难以把握方向。哲学帮助青少年克服恐惧。哲学帮助青少年克服恐惧,帮助他们更好地生活,帮助他们赋予生活意义。培养青少年对思考的爱好,便是让他们自主发现思维活动的乐趣,激发他们对周遭世界的兴趣,锻炼他们的批判性思维,并让他们理解当今世界的关键所在。
