The first three editions of the Night of Ideas in Lisbon were a great success (2500 people in 2020). This year again, the partnership with the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation is renewed to organise a special Night of Ideas. The idea is still to offer the Lisbon public a real "festival of thought", by inviting French and Portuguese speakers from different disciplines to engage in dialogue.

5 French and 5 Portuguese philosophers have been invited to speak at conferences or in Franco-Portuguese dialogues on the theme of Proximos, which we have divided into three sub-themes: otherness, solidarity and interpersonal relations.

Format:
The event will be organised in a hybrid format, open to a limited audience of 500 people and broadcast online in the first part of the evening, before switching fully online in the second part of the evening.

The alternative would be a fully online event.

French speakers:
- Claudie Haigneré: Scientist, spacewoman and former Minister for Research and New Technologies. Currently ambassador and advisor to the director of the European Space Agency.
- Pascal Brice: President of the Federation of Solidarity Actors (since 2020), former Director of the French Office for the Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons (OFPRA).
