The Night of Ideas celebrates the circulation of ideas between countries and cultures, disciplines and generations: each year, the Night of Ideas is an invitation to discover the latest discoveries, to listen to those who are advancing ideas in all fields and to exchange views on the major issues of our time. Echoes of the Night of Ideas are broadcast across time zones via social networks, making the Night of Ideas a global event. The theme for 2021 is that of the close ones (proximity, family and relatives, friends). This is why a night of debates, philosophies and discussions will take place online from 8 pm to 11 pm on 28 January on the theme of "Proximity: Experience and Phenomenon" organised by the Franco-German Cultural Institute of Tübingen (ICFA) in collaboration with the Centre for Interdisciplinary and Intercultural Studies of the University of Tübingen (CIIS) and the Landestheater Tübingen (LTT).
