The 6th edition of the Night of Ideas (NDI) will be held on January 28, 2021 on the theme "Close: What binds us together". Every year, the Night of Ideas is an invitation to listen to those who participate in the free circulation of ideas and knowledge on the major issues of our time.
The 2021 edition is special. As the world faces the constraints of curfews, confinement and physical distancing, this year's theme, "Close: What binds us together", invites us to question the very nature of our relationships with one another.
Also, this year's Night of Ideas is adapting and offers 24 hours of interviews and videos online and live, on Facebook, YouTube and on the official website www.lanuitdesidees.com, from January 28th at 9am, to January 29th at 8:45am. Bringing together citizens from around the world to feel closer than ever, more than 200 countries will participate in this beautiful programming, including the United States, Brazil, Egypt, Gabon, South Africa, Cote d'Ivoire, Ethiopia, Togo, and many others.
This event has become a much awaited appointment in Gabon and the Gabonese speakers, artists and intellectuals have committed themselves to this digital edition. Indeed, they have participated in the production of 6 videos that you can discover on the websites and social networks of the French Institute of Gabon.
They chose to highlight: the link between man and nature (Aurélie Flore Koumba Pambo), the fight against social and health exclusion (Wenceslas Yaba), social integration through artistic creation (Iboga Think Tank) and the rediscovery of spaces of proximity and creativity in the neighbourhoods (Janis Otsiemi and CorailKing). It will be possible to experience this exceptional event also on the big screen. The French Institute of Gabon will broadcast the live 24-hour Night of Ideas from 11am to 6pm in cinemas, and will create a "special Gabon" drop-off on the mezzanine floor.
