As part of the containment of populations around the world as a result of the global health crisis, public transportation systems have been restricted and, in Manila as in other cities and urban centres in the Philippines, people use bicycles for their daily trips. The Night of Ideas in Manila, through a webinar, will discuss various themes related to the development of cycling as a popular mode of transport, including infrastructure needs, health and environmental implications.
The television journalist, Mr Howie Severino, a cycling enthusiast, will moderate the debate between representatives of public authorities, civil society, sportsmen and women, medical professions and others. Howie survived Covid and recovered his health by cycling.
