When?
The Swiss edition of the Night of Ideas will take place on 28 January 2021 from 5 pm (Paris and Geneva time).

Where?
Filmed on the territory of Greater Geneva, the Night of Ideas in Switzerland will take place in a 100% virtual format. It will take two main forms: Instagram stories (short capsules) and videos with longer content, broadcast on Youtube. At the same time, it will be relayed on Facebook and Twitter, through the official accounts of the French Embassy in Switzerland.

What?
The Embassy of France in Switzerland has chosen to echo the term "Close" by emphasizing the geographical and cultural proximity that unites our two countries. Cross-border exchanges and mobility will thus be at the heart of this event. We will be holding it in Geneva, whose canton shares more than 95% of its borders with France. We will be looking at the notion of "border", which is a dividing line, a space for flows, exchanges, creation... and solidarity in the face of the crisis.

Using a variety of media, the public of the Night of Ideas will be invited to discover Geneva actors from various disciplines. Filmed interviews, "unmasked mouths" (short definitions of the term "Close"), video capsules of frozen and danced gestures: on Thursday 28 January, the French Embassy in Switzerland invites you to follow a festive and multidisciplinary programme, which will highlight a unique, atypical and dynamic cross-border space, in the image of the 85,000 border residents (including 30,000 in the field of health) of the canton of Geneva who "make" and "are" the border on a daily basis.

Join us from 5pm, January 28th, on Instagram, Youtube, Facebook and Twitter!
