The IRD Ecuador and the Alliance Française de Quito have joined forces to offer you a program dedicated to the theme of environmental conservation and tourism development in Ecuador.

3pm - 4pm / A photo exhibition, art and encounters, in person, at the Alliance Française.

Two slots are open at 3pm and 4pm, by reservation only, to allow small groups to discover the photo exhibition "Oases at the top of the Andes", installed in the art gallery of the Alliance Française of Quito.
The exhibition will be accompanied by sounds recorded on the different terrains of the round table participants, for a more immersive experience. There will also be a wall with the works of the artist Nicolas Morales.
Finally, we propose you to exchange with the project leaders who will animate the round table at 6pm thanks to the stands and the presence of documentation throughout the afternoon.
In particular, you will be able to learn more about the species present in the reserves concerned, thanks to the scientific illustrations of Dorian Noel (which you will be able to take home with you!).

All health measures foreseen by the WCC will be respected. Mask must be worn. Limited capacity during visits.

 

6:00 pm / A round table, online, on the theme of conservation

At 6 pm, an exceptional round table will be broadcast live on the Facebook page of the Alliance Française de Quito, bringing together four project leaders and a scientist, who will express their vision of conservation, their projects, the difficulties and successes encountered. A time of exchange will of course follow their interventions.

- Christophe Pellet, Jardín de los sueños, La Mana
- Anelio Loor, La Esperanza Reserve, El Carmen
- Renato Valencia, plot of 50 hectares in the Yasuni park
- Thomas Couvreur, research botanist at IRD

The round table and the exhibition will be held in Spanish.
