17:00 - Round table "Architecture in open spaces

Architecture is present in all aspects of our lives and, as such, modifies our environment, seeking more or less favourable contexts in which to carry out our daily activities.

The guests at this table are four young architects who have participated in exceptional projects, bringing their knowledge, sensitivity and harmony to meet the functional, technical and aesthetic requirements of, among others, the headquarters of the Alliance franco-colombian, the French High School and institutional buildings in Bogotá.

In a fresh and simple dialogue, they will share with us their experiences and their vision of the new challenges that the design and adaptation of educational spaces will have to face in order to comply with the restrictions and safety protocols of the current moment, with a special emphasis on open spaces.

One of the most obvious consequences is the change in the relationship with our bodies and with the bodies of others. Commonplace activities such as sneezing or coughing have become potential dangers, hugs, kisses, handshakes, with which we seal our personal bonds, have been restricted between parents and lovers. Here we must ask ourselves fundamental questions about the future of human relations: what is the general significance of this new status of untouchability? Can you distinguish the effects that concern specific groups of people? Is it a status that we will have to get used to, or is it simply a temporary change? What new codes have or can be created to maintain our links with others?

In the same way, it is worth asking ourselves what will happen in this new reality, in relation to the other realities we have experienced, such as the social and technological gaps. Have we overcome them? Or, on the contrary, have they become greater? Or perhaps we are seeing them for the first time in their full dimension? What does nature mean to us with all that we have experienced? Will it be necessary to engage in a new dialogue between science-technology and the environment, and to strengthen the spaces in which different discourses, humanistic, social or scientific, converge? ...

La arquitectura está presente en todas las actividades de nuestras vidas y, como tal, modifica nuestro entorno, procurando entornos más o menos favorable para la realización de las actividades diarias.

Los invitados a esta mesa son cuatro arquitectos jóvenes que han participado en proyectos destacados, aportando su conocimiento, sensibilidad y sintonía para cumplir con los requerimientos funcionales, técnicos y estéticos, particularmente de las sedes de la Alianza Colombo Francesa, del Liceo Francés y de edificaciones institucionales en Bogotá.

In a diálogo fresco y descomplicado nos compartirán sus experiencias y su visón respecto a los nuevos retos que enfrentará el diseño y la adaptación de los espacios educativos para cumplir con las restricciones y los protocolos de seguridad del momento actual dándole un protagonismo a los espacios abiertos.

One of the most obvious consequences is the change in relations with our own and others. Banal activities such as estornudar o toser se han convertido en peligros potenciales, los abrazos, los besos, los apretones de manos, con los que sellamos nuestros vínculos personales, se han restringido aún entre familiares y amantes. This is why we are dealing with the primordial themes of the future of human relations: What are the general moods of this new era of intocables? Can we distinguish between the effects that we can see in groups of specific persons? ¿Se trata de un estatus al que deberemos acostumbrarnos definitivamente o solo de un cambio transitorio? ¿Qué nuevos códigos se han creado o pueden crearse para mantener nuestros vínculos con los demás?

De la misma manera, cabe preguntarse qué ocurrirá en esta nueva realidad con las otras realidades con las que hemos convivido, como las brechas sociales y tecnológicas. ¿Acaso las hemos superado?
