The French Embassy is delighted to announce The Green Night of Ideas 2021 in Ireland, a series of digital screenings followed by debates on climate change taking place in January and February 2021.
HOME by Yann Arthus-Bertrand
"Home" is a 2009 documentary by French photographer, journalist and environmentalist Yann Arthus-Bertrand and produced by Luc Besson. The film consists almost entirely of aerial shots of various places on Earth. It shows how closely man and nature are linked, and how humanity is threatening the ecological balance of the planet.
The appearance of life on Earth is the result of balances between elements that took millions of years to stabilize. Man takes advantage of the resources provided by the earth, but changes the face of the world by exploiting them. The control of oil and the resulting overexploitation have dramatic consequences for our planet. Man must change his behaviours and lifestyles before it is too late, for him, for his descendants and for life on earth.
