While terms such as distancing, isolation and containment have been the watchwords of this year 2020, it is nevertheless that of "Close" that serves as the guiding thread for this Night of Ideas 2021.

Thus, for this 5th edition in Poland, the French Institute of Poland and the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology brought together a line-up of high-profile Polish and French guests. Whether they were philosophers, sociologists, architects, designers or political personalities, all agreed to share their thoughts on subjects such as: what new forms of solidarity are at work in this period of crisis and potential disaster? How do architects respond to the objective of thinking a city "on a human scale" and integrate sustainable development into their approach? How has the pandemic influenced our language, our relationships and stimulated our creativity?

Throughout the evening, the public will be able to follow live the debates in which the participants will take part:

• the philosopher Jean-Pierre Dupuy
• MP and politician Barbara Nowacka
• the sociologist Marek Krajewski
• the architect Nicolas Laisné
• the semiologist Mariette Darrigrand
• the designer Ruedi Baur.

These speeches will be followed by times for discussion with the public. The discussions will be moderated by Aneta Kyzioł, a journalist and contributor to the Polish weekly Polityka. The debates will alternate with artistic presentations, results of the international digital creation workshops "Creativity - Text in Performance", organized by the PJATK Academy.

The participation to this evening will be done via the ZOOM application.
