The Quai d'Orsay officially launched the second edition of the Night of Ideas by hosting two round tables on the theme "Europe in common" at the Hôtel du Ministre des Affaires étrangères. In an international context marked by the rise of populism, this evening was intended to discuss what can make a community in Europe at a time of national withdrawal. Researchers, practitioners and observers of the European situation proposed to examine how, in the light of contemporary reflections on the notion of the common, to unite European citizens around a unifying and attractive community project. Artists, writers and actors of the cultural world were then invited to express themselves on the current tensions that run through the contemporary cultural environment and on the resources that can be mobilized so that creation plays its full role in the construction of a common horizon and destiny.
