While the World Night of Ideas will be under the patronage of the German philosopher Hartmut Rosa, in Germany, the Night of Ideas will be part of the debate cycle "Die Welt danach: zusammen oder getrennt?". (The next world: together or apart?). In the context of the health crisis, it will be an opportunity to question our relationship to the world and to each other. How can we take advantage of the shock of the crisis to develop our capacity to resonate, to reappropriate our relationship to time and the environment?
Curator Liberty Adrien and her guests will explore the avenues opened up by ecofeminism, while researchers from the Department of Philosophy at the University of Tübingen will address the various aspects and implications of the notion of proximity on a theoretical level. Writer Yoko Tawada, MEP Hannah Neumann and representatives of civil society will discuss the social implications of the crisis and how it can lead us to rethink our relations with others. The entire programme will be punctuated by artistic and musical interludes and will be complemented by suggested readings.
