As every year, the French Institute of Benin is associated with the Night of Ideas which will take place on Thursday, January 28, 2021 from 7:30 p.m. in the premises of the Institute in Cotonou.

In resonance with the theme "Proches", proposed by the Institut Français Paris for the 2021 edition, IF Benin will question the circulation of poetics, aesthetics and imagination in this Atlantic that connects Africa, Europe and the Americas.

The reflexive and artistic wandering at the French Institute of Benin, will be organized around culture, a lever of inclusion, and will question the circulation of intangible heritage: music, dance, song, in the Atlantic triangle of the 3 continents.

It will alternate artistic performances and times for cross-references between experts, artists, academics, tradition bearers and researchers.

19h30-20h00: Performance: acoustic singing - The sisters Teriba and James Germain
20h00-20h40: Debate: "Atlantic circulation of sacred traditions in arts and culture".
