Queer writer and activist Wendy Delorme and artist and researcher Joana Moll will talk about the effects of the pandemic on intimacy and how we interact emotionally with others.
The pandemic forced us to minimize physical contact with others, creating a social distance we were not used to. The body is no longer a space for relationships and intimacy but a surface that must be protected from contact. Desire, the jewel of spontaneous movement or the warmth of human touch, has been subordinated to the need to ensure collective health and safety. What role have digital technologies played in this new form of relationship? How will we reconnect with others? Have we learned anything positive from this experience?
In this session, queer writer, artist and activist Wendy Delorme and artist Joana Moll will discuss these issues in a conversation led by philosopher and translator Xavier Bassas, in a dialogue that will take place simultaneously in Barcelona and Lyon, both in person and virtually.
This event is organized in conjunction with the Centre for Contemporary Culture of Barcelona (CCCB) and the École de l'Anthropocène of Lyon.
During this night, the Catalan dancer Nuria Guiu will present a condensed version of her work "Spiritual boyfriend" during a performance.
