After studying law for five years in Portugal, his love of reading and writing led him to the world of journalism and academic research. He is now studying African History at SOAS in London. He was a research assistant for the project 'History and Memory of a Community of African Origin in the Alentejo (centuries XV-XX)' supported by the Portuguese State Department for Citizenship. He also volunteered at the Arts Centre - São Tomé and Príncipe in 2019 in the organisation of the Arts and Culture Biennial, N'GOLÁ.
